Acceptance

By accessing or using Symmer (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access the Service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using Symmer, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian.

The Service

Symmer is a social time capsule platform that allows groups to answer prompts, seal their answers together, and reveal them on a chosen future date. Capsules may be created with or without a registered account. The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.

Accounts

You may create a registered account to access additional features such as a dashboard of your capsules and participation history. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.

User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
• Submit content that is harmful, abusive, threatening, harassing, or defamatory.
• Attempt to access other users’ data or capsules without authorization.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Service.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.

Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you submit. By submitting answers to a capsule, you grant Symmer a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display your content to the other participants of that specific capsule on the unlock date. We do not use your content for advertising or share it outside the capsule context without your consent.

Data & Deletion

Capsule data (including answers) may be permanently deleted after the capsule lifecycle ends. We are not responsible for data loss due to deletions, technical failures, or account termination. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time via our contact page.

Intellectual Property

The Symmer name, logo, and all Service content (excluding user-submitted content) are the property of Symmer and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our materials without express written permission.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Symmer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including loss of data. The Service may experience downtime or errors and we make no guarantee of uninterrupted availability.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
